Walcott wins 2017 BPMSI Champion Driver title

Andre Walcott (Courts iFinance/M-Grafix/Courts Optical Suzuki Swift) is Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc’s (BPMSI) new Champion Driver. At the fourth and final round of the Club’s 2017 Championship season during the Williams Industries International Race Meet at the St Philip facility on September 2/3, he added three further Group 1/Class 1 wins to his earlier nine to maintain a 100 per cent hit rate and amass a total of 214 points.

Records tumble at Williams Industries International

Records tumbled at Bushy Park Barbados over the weekend as the island played host to the third round of the Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC) at the Williams Industries International Race Meet (September 2/3). Team Barbados was the top points-scorer of the weekend, moving from third to second in the Country standings, with reigning champions Mark Maloney and Mark Thompson now the respective leaders of the Group 4 (2wd) and Group 2 standings for 2017.

FIA President Todt praises island motor sport fraternity

President of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Jean Todt heaped praise on the island’s motor sport fraternity shortly before he left Barbados on Tuesday (August 8) after a one-day visit in his capacity as the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety. Speaking to the media at Bushy Park, he said: “In Barbados, a small country of less than 300,000 population, there are a lot of skilled people with energy and passion, which makes me very happy.”

Jenson Button to headline Barbados Festival of Speed 2017

Former Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button will headline the second Barbados Festival of Speed, which is today (May 12) confirmed for Saturday, October 14, at Bushy Park Barbados. The one-day event will run from day into night, promising an epic new experience for spectators, thanks to the full-arena lighting currently being installed at the St Philip facility.

Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc celebrates its 2016 Champions

Members of Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc (BPMSI) gathered in the Cafeteria at Bushy Park Barbados last evening (Saturday) to celebrate the Club’s 2016 Champions. Champion Driver and Champion Rider respectively, Geoff Ullyett and Brook Miller, emerged victorious from the nearly 90 competitors on two and four wheels who scored points in BPMSI-administered Championships, many of whom headed to St Philip to join in the celebrations.

Earlier date for Barbados Festival of Speed 2017

Following the success of the inaugural Barbados Festival of Speed in May 2016, Bushy Park Circuit Inc (BPCI) has confirmed Saturday, February 4, as the date for BFoS 2017. While no details of the planned content have yet been revealed, the one-day event will next year run from day into night, promising a whole new experience for spectators.

Ullyett and Miller are 2016 BPMSI Bike and Car Champions

Geoff Ullyett and Brook Miller are Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc’s (BPMSI) 2016 Champion Driver and Champion Rider respectively, following the end of the Club’s second season at the Williams Digicel International Race Meet earlier this month. While the Suzuki Challenge Series will not reach its Summer Season finale until October 30, more than 100 competitors have already scored points in BPMSI-run Championships.
