Mayers, Roett head entry for loose surface finale

Rising young star Roger Mayers and the experienced Richard Roett head the running order, confirmed today (Saturday), for the Barbados Rally Club's (BRC) final loose-surface event of the BRC's 2002 Autozone/LAW Motors Championship on Sunday (November 24).
The 12-stage event, scheduled to start at 0800hrs, will visit the popular Kendal and Guinea venues in the morning, with the final four stages run at the Black Bess Plantation in the afternoon. Each stage venue will run twice in each direction, with the cars scheduled to reach Black Bess shortly after 12 noon.
Mayers will have Fiona Packer alongside him in the Automotive Art Ford Escort WRC, while Roett's partner in the Michelin/Esso/Nassco/Lucky Horseshoe/Roett's Garage Toyota Celica GT4s will be Logan Watson. In the absence of Roger Hill, Trevor Manning and Roger Skeete, whose cars are already in Jamaica awaiting their participation in an international event there in two weeks' time, Mayers and Roett are expected to vie for honours on Sunday.
Sean Dowding/Jason Cozier (Globe Finance/NPK Construction Equipment/Axis Inc Mitsubishi Evo 5) are the only crew listed in Group A, but the Group N class promises to be as hotly-contested as ever. In that Group, the tried and tested partnerships of Barry Gale/Ryan Rodriguez (Castrol/VIBE Fruit Juices/Simpson Motors/Wurkz Engineering/Mix 96.9FM Mitsubishi Evo VI) and Geoff Noel/Lesley Alleyne (Napa/Pirelli/AutoZone/Simpson Motors Mitsubishi Evo VI) will face Brian Gill's Banks/Williams Industries/Texaco/Pirelli Impreza WRX.
In the absence of Roger Hill, his regular co-driver Graham Gittens will sit with Lindsay Farmer to face Cliff Roett/Rhett Watson in the Open Modified class, while the biggest Group of the day will be Modified 7. A tough battle is expected to be fought betweeen Greg Cozier/Anotonio da Silva (Ford Escort) and John Corbin/Victor Best (Toyota Corolla) among others.
Neil Barnard/Chris Hoyos bring their Opel Corsa to Modified 6 to face the Toyota trio of Neil Armstrong/Raymond Thompson, Kirk Watkins/Josh Read and brothers Ian and Robert Warren.
