Six Nations line up for Modified 4 in BCIC RB25

With more than 30 trips to compete in the island already behind them, four drivers from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales will bring a true international flavour to the Modified 4 class in BCIC Rally Barbados 2025. With local and regional drivers already in the mix, this four-wheel-drive class is set to be better supported than in recent years.

BMF, BADD back regional drag racing championship

The Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF) and the Barbados Association of Dragsters & Drifters (BADD) are partners in a ground-breaking initiative which will pit the island’s best drag racers against their peers from Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago. The Caribbean Drag Racing Championship (CDRC) will kick off this Sunday (February 16) at Bushy Park Barbados and in Guyana.

Huge interest from home and abroad in BCIC RB25

BCIC Rally Barbados 2025 is attracting unprecedented levels of interest, with provisional on-line entries passing the 100 mark this week, two months earlier than last year. BCIC RB24 broke a handful of records, including the number of starters (100) and finishers (67) and organisers are looking forward to another bumper year.

BMF and BRSA join forces to make the roads SAFE

Spurred on by a spate of recent events, the Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF) and Barbados Road Safety Association (BRSA) are to join forces in a concerted effort to help lower the accident rate on the island’s roads. Under the acronym SAFE – Safe Arrival For Everyone – the two non-profit organisations will be working to change the mindset of local drivers and promote road safety.

Nagle full of praise for BMF and motor sport volunteers

Nagle joins local instructors for BMF Training Weekend

Two-time Rally Barbados-winning co-driver, Ireland’s Paul Nagle, will join the Barbados Motoring Federation’s (BMF) instructors for the upcoming Motorsport Training Weekend (February 1/2) at Bushy Park. Nagle and fellow-countryman Kris Meeke won RB08 and RB09, then the 2009 Intercontinental Rally Challenge before graduating to the World Rally Championship, winning five WRC rounds between 2015 and ’17.

BCIC RB24 winner Maloney places sixth in UK rally

BCIC Rally Barbados 2024 winner and reigning Barbados Rally Club Champion Driver Stuart Maloney finished sixth last Saturday (January 18) in the MGJ Engineering Brands Hatch Winter Stages, fourth of nine rounds in the UK’s Protyre Circuit Rally Championship (CRC). The event was won by 2023/24 CRC Champion Michael Igoe, with former Champions Barry Morris, John Griffiths and Chris West, plus current points-leader John Stone the only other drivers to beat Maloney.

World Championship prize for motorsport marshals

One island motorsport volunteer will be rewarded for his or her commitment to the sport with a once-in-a-lifetime trip to work as an official marshal at a World Championship event in 2026. The new scheme, administered by the Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF), was announced at BMF Marshals Day at Bushy Park on Sunday (January 19).

Plans for BCIC Rally Barbados 2025 well under way

The Barbados Rally Club (BRC) is well advanced in its planning for BCIC Rally Barbados 2025, with over four months to run before the 35th edition of its premier event. Giving an update this week, Event Director Neil Barnard expressed satisfaction with progress so far, emphasising the importance of the adage ‘If you fail to plan - you plan to fail’.

Former T&T champ opens regional entry for BCIC RB25

Former Champion Driver of the Trinidad & Tobago Rally Club (TTRC) Ryan Pinheiro is the first regional entry confirmed for BCIC Rally Barbados 2025 (May 30-June 1). Following a comprehensive rebuild over the past year, he will campaign the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo V in which he won the TTRC title and Rally Trinidad in 2018.
