Racing under lights at BPMSI Finale at Bushy Park Barbados

Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc (BPMSI) is joining forces with the Barbados Karting Association (BKA) and the Barbados Association of Dragsters & Drifters (BADD) to end its 2016 season in style with a packed day – and night – of action at Bushy Park Barbados on Sunday, October 30.

CHAMPION TARGETS SOL RALLY BARBADOS 2017

More than 20 entries received in first week of registration

Winner of Group N at Sol Rally Barbados 2008, Britain's Ryan Champion is targeting a return to the event next year in the Mitsubishi Lancer WRC04 in which he finished third in last Saturday’s (October 1) Trackrod Rally Yorkshire. While Champion is not yet among the more than 20 entries received since on-line registration opened last weekend, he is in determined mood.

Mayers & Read share Winter Sprint victories

Daryl Clarke will be crowned the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Champion Driver for 2016 following two wins in the season finale in yesterday’s (Sunday) BRC Winter Sprint in the north of the island. While victory is well-deserved after Clarke had lost the coveted title twice in the last four years in tie-break deciders, it was a bitter-sweet day, as he badly damaged his car in an accident on the day’s final stage.

RALLY CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP FINALE ON SUNDAY

Switch of venue to Luke Hill

The Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 2016 Driver’s and Class Championships are set for a nail-biter of a finale at the weekend (Sunday, October 2), as all but two of the top 10 contenders chasing the coveted Champion Driver title are entered for the BRC Winter Sprint. The double-header format, with year-end dropped scores to be taken into account, means the outcome will not be known until the final run.

Ullyett and Miller are 2016 BPMSI Bike and Car Champions

Geoff Ullyett and Brook Miller are Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc’s (BPMSI) 2016 Champion Driver and Champion Rider respectively, following the end of the Club’s second season at the Williams Digicel International Race Meet earlier this month. While the Suzuki Challenge Series will not reach its Summer Season finale until October 30, more than 100 competitors have already scored points in BPMSI-run Championships.

ALLEYNE, O’NEAL WIN CHEFETTE SEPTEMBER SAFARI

Leslie Alleyne and Chris O’Neal won Sunday’s (September 18) Chefette September Safari to claim their second win in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 2016 Chefette MudDogs Safari & Safari Novice Championships, having already won the March Safari. In the Simpson Motors/Shell Spirax/Shell Rimula/Maxxis Isuzu D-Max, the multiple champions won by a margin of just 19 penalty points.

CLARKE NEW LEADER OF RALLY CLUB TITLE CHASE

Daryl Clarke is the new leader of the annual chase to claim the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) coveted Champion Driver title, after claiming his fifth consecutive Modified 2 class win in the BRC Summer Nights Rally last month (August 29). Victory in the Roberts Manufacturing/Amir’s Chicken/Valvoline/MQI Collision Repair Honda Civic came on a day when other front-runners hit trouble.

MUDDOGS BACK IN ACTION THIS WEEKEND

After a three-month summer break, competitors will be ready for action when the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Chefette MudDogs Safari & Safari Novice Championships continue on Sunday (September 18) with the third of four rounds in the 2016 calendar, the Chefette September Safari.

Team Barbados wins at Williams Digicel International

Team Barbados was the top points-scorer in last weekend’s (September 3/4) Williams Digicel International Race Meet at Bushy Park Barbados, moving from fourth to second in the Country standings of 2016 Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC). With two wins and a second place in Group 4 and a new CMRC lap record to his credit, Barry Mayers was the most successful individual in the team.

Jeffrey and Simpson join Suzuki Challenge Series winners

Guyana’s Kristian Jeffrey and local racer David Simpson joined the Suzuki Challenge Series SR3 Cup roll of honour yesterday (September 4) as they shared race wins with reigning champion Sean Maloney during the Digicel Williams International Race Meet at Bushy Park Barbados. Ryan Wood took the chequered flag in all three Swift Cup races, but was disqualified from the third for taking the Joker Lap twice, handing victory to Jason Parkinson.
