Former UK National Rally Champion Paul Bird won Scotiabank King of the Hill yesterday (Sunday), despite felling a road sign on his final run in a dramatic spin in front of thousands of spectators. He admitted: “I just tried something different, and it didn’t work!” . . . but it didn’t matter, either, as his second-run time was good enough to win by 12/100ths of a second, the smallest margin of victory in the event’s history.
