BMF applauds Zane Maloney’s first FIA F3 win

The Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF) was quick to congratulate Barbadian Zane Maloney on his first victory in the FIA Formula 3 Championship at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium today (August 28). Less than 24 hours after he rolled into retirement following heavy contact in the Sprint Race, the 18-year-old led team-mate Roman Stanek home in the Feature Race in Trident Motorsport’s first double podium of the season.

Esuf returns as Radicals share limelight with Street Digs

Former multiple Suzuki Challenge Series Champion Suleman Esuf will return to the category at Bushy Park Barbados on Sunday (August 28) in round two of the Radical Caribbean Cup. And he will be joined on the grid for the first time by his brother Ahmed, who will also race with the Fast Parts team, bringing to 42 the number of drivers to have competed in the Suzuki-powered Radicals since the series was launched in 2015.

Caribbean Junior Karting series returns at Bushy Park

Rising young stars from across the region will enjoy a chance to shine when the second Caribbean Junior Karting Academy Trophy (CJKAT) is staged later this year (November 4-6). Administered by the Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF) in association with Bushy Park Circuit Inc (BPCI), it follows the successful running of the inaugural event in 2019 after which subsequent editions were affected by the pandemic.

Motor sport volunteers praised by FIA Trainers

Regional motor sport volunteers came in for high praise after four days of training at Bushy Park concluded last Sunday (July 24). Organised by the Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF) and funded by a Cluster Grant from the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the biggest-ever exercise of its type in the region also included participants from Antigua, Guyana and Jamaica.

Founded in 1953 as the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) – it was rebranded in 2020 - Motorsport Australia has successfully trained and mentored more than 4000 officials and marshals. One of four FIA Institute Regional Training Providers (RTP), it has provided training and/or operational support for the Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Korean, Malaysian, Singapore and Vietnam Grands Prix and worked on the establishment of the Vietnamese Motorsports Association, the country’s ASN, in 2019.
