BPCI appointed regional dealer for Radical Sportscars

Bushy Park Circuit Inc (BPCI) has been appointed an official dealer for Radical Sportscars; in an arrangement agreed earlier this month, a new entity, Radical Caribbean, will now represent the British race and road car manufacturer throughout all regional territories. The St Philip facility’s first race meeting of 2018 will be the third Radical Carnival over the weekend of January 27/28.

The Jamaican crew tops a 40-car entry for the BRC Winter Rally, which incorporates the second weekend of the Barbados Historic Rally Carnival, which has helped boost to 14 the total of overseas participants.

Record fifth title for Alleyne and O’Neal

Jean-Marc Cozier and Andrew Croney crowned an impressive first full season together in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Chefette MudDogs Safari Championship with victory in Sunday’s (November 12) final round . . . although it nearly went awry during the Country View Mud and Hill Challenge, just before the finish, when their Honda Pioneer tipped over. It was quickly righted, however, and they continued to victory.

Back-to-back CMRC titles for Maloney and Thompson

Mark Maloney and Mark Thompson clinched back-to-back Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC) titles on Sunday (November 11) in the final round of the regional series at South Dakota in Guyana. With one race win and a second-place finish each, they are respectively the 2017 Group 4 (2wd) and Group 2 Champions, Thompson bringing his total of CMRC championship crowns to four.

WALES WINNER PRESTON FOR SOL RALLY BARBADOS

On-line entries flow in at record rate

Last month’s penultimate round of the 2017 World Rally Championship, Dayinsure Wales Rally GB, resonated with echoes of Sol Rally Barbados, as the two first-time winners each had Caribbean connections. M-Sport driver Elfyn Evans, who finished third in Sol RB16, won his first WRC event, while Tom Preston claimed his first-ever outright victory in the WRGB National Rally, before confirming his participation in Sol RB18.

Team Barbados heads for CMRC finale in Guyana

Team Barbados will be represented in all four Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC) categories for cars when the 2017 season finale runs off this weekend (November 11/12) in Guyana. Reigning Group Champions Mark Maloney (Gp4/2wd) and Mark Thompson (Gp2) will be joined by former CMRC Champion Roger Mayers (Gp4 /4wd) and Tremaine Forde-Catwell (Gp3).

BIRD AND SWANN TO FLY IN FOR BRC WINTER RALLY

Double Sol Rally Barbados winner Paul Bird and Rob Swann, who finished second in Sol RB17, will both compete in the final round of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Winter Rally at the end of next month. They will join regional regulars, including Jamaica’s Jeff Panton, who currently leads the BRC Champion Driver title chase, in what promises to be an explosive climax to the domestic season.

Button lauds Bushy Park at Barbados Festival of Speed

Former F1 World Champion Jenson Button raced against cars, karts and a plane at Bushy Park Barbados on Saturday (October 14) when he headed a cast of international visitors in the island’s second Festival of Speed. During an action-packed eight-hour programme, which ran from day into night, there was something for everyone, including a half-time show with Allison Hinds the headline act.
