BMF publishes Environmental Code of Practice

The Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF) has this week published an Environmental Code of Practice as it positions itself at the forefront of environmental awareness and protection in island motor sport. The 23-page document was ratified at the BMF’s Annual General Assembly on Wednesday evening (September 25), which was attended by representatives of all the Federation’s nine Member Clubs.

Entries open for BCIC Rally Barbados 2025

The Barbados Rally Club (BRC) is stepping up preparations for next year’s 35th edition of its premier event by returning to its traditional date for opening entries. The entry form for BCIC Rally Barbados 2025 will go live on the official web site - www.rallybarbados.net – at noon local time on Tuesday, October 1, 5.00pm in the UK and Ireland; the entry window will close in mid-April 2025.

First MudDogs win for Parravicino in “fantastic” event

Simon Parravicino and Andrew Croney won Sunday’s (September 15) Super S September Safari, an event described as “fantastic” by first-time winner Parravicino. Recent weather patterns had created ideal conditions for the 4x4 off-road fraternity to enjoy the penultimate round of the Chefette MudDogs Safari Championship.

Watson wins, Read extends Rally2 points lead

Logan Watson claimed his first win in the Barbados Rally2 Championship sponsored by CIBC Caribbean and Ace H & B Hardware on Saturday (September 14). By finishing second overall in the MCBI Rally of the Sun & Stars to Mark Maloney, who is not registered for points, Watson jumps to third in the Barbados Motoring Federation-administered championship with three rounds remaining.

After a three-month summer break, crews are making ready for the fourth of five rounds of the Chefette MudDogs Safari Championship, which will feature the return of the popular Driver Challenges for the first time this year.

The Motoring Club Barbados Inc (MCBI) breaks new ground on Saturday (September 14) when six special stages of its premier event, the Rally of the Sun & Stars, are scheduled to pass through Bushy Park Barbados. With three runs in daylight, then three under the facility’s all-arena lighting and the entry list heading towards 40 early in the week, island fans are anticipating some thrilling action.

Maloney retakes lead of BKA title chase by two points

With three wins at Sunday’s (September 8) Crane & Equipment Raceday at Bushy Park, Calem Maloney has retaken the lead of the Sectus Technologies Barbados Karting Association (BKA) Championship after seven rounds. Since slipping back when he missed the second round in March, the Easykart 125cc class leader has been edging closer and now leads Zak Mayers by two points, 575 to 573.

Rally of the Sun & Stars next for Rally2 teams

Teams and drivers are hard at work preparing for the restart of the 2024 Barbados Rally2 Championship sponsored by CIBC Caribbean and Ace H & B Hardware. After the three-month summer break, competition resumes next Saturday (September 14) with the 13th running of the Motoring Club Barbados Inc (MCBI) Rally of the Sun & Stars.

Rallying mourns loss of ‘Rally Granny’ Biddy Barber

Island motor sport enthusiasts of all generations are mourning the loss of Brigid ‘Biddy’ Barber, who passed away at home yesterday (Tuesday) aged 75. Her active role in the sport began when she joined the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) as a 17-year-old in the 1960s and lasted well into her 70s, her passion and encouragement, particularly for newcomers, earning her the affectionate nickname ‘Rally Granny’.
