Jamaica’s Myers is Radical Caribbean SR3 Cup Champion

Jamaica’s William Myers is the new Radical Caribbean SR3 Cup (RCC) Champion, clinching the title in last weekend’s (November 16/17) final round at South Dakota, organised by the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC). In a text-book demonstration of consistency, he claimed the regional title in its second year, with nine podiums in the 12 races and fourth-placed finishes in the other three. Despite failing to win in his Rookie season, Myers beat Reigning Champion and three-time race-winner Stuart Maloney to the title by seven points.

Esuf and Maloney families to represent Barbados in Guyana

Suleman Esuf and his brother Ahmed will race on Guyana’s South Dakota circuit for the first time this weekend (November 16/17) when they join regular visitor Mark Maloney to compete in the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club’s (GMR&SC) Clash of Champions International Race Meet. The action-packed race programme includes the final round of the 2019 Radical Caribbean SR3 Cup, along with events for Groups 2, 3 and 4, Superbikes and the GMR&SC’s local classes.

WELSH MARSHALS HEAD FOR SOL RALLY BARBADOS

Geest Line among those recognised for “significant contribution”

Two diehard Welsh rally volunteers will head across the Atlantic for next year’s Sol Rally Barbados after winning the Marshals’ Prize Draw at Get Connected Rali Bae Ceredigion, the first closed-road rally run in the Principality. Laura Sugden, who was confirmed as the lucky winner at the recent Awards Evening, will make the trip with her partner Nathan Davies, who was also marshalling at the September event.

HO2 Construction Winter Rally brings season to an end

Edward Corbin is the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Champion Driver elect, a title that has eluded the nine-time Class Champion more than once since first losing out to a tie-break in 2003. Victory in his Modified 1 Daihatsu Charmant with co-driver Johnathan Alleyne in last Sunday’s (October 27) final round, the HO2 Construction Winter Rally, maintained their 100 per cent win rate in the 2019 Driver’s and Class Championships.

Dane Skeete and Tyler Mayhew are seeded at number one for the final round of the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Driver’s & Class Championships on Sunday (October 27) in their Sol Rally Barbados-winning Subaru Impreza WRC S12B. Thirty crews were confirmed on the running order for the HO2 Construction Winter Rally at last night’s Briefing Meeting at the Barbados Clay Target Shooting Association (BCTSA) Clubhouse, Searles, Christ Church.

Reigning Champion Stuart Maloney of Barbados leads Jamaica’s William Myers by a single point ahead of the final round of the 2019 Radical Caribbean SR3 Cup at South Dakota in Guyana next month (November 16/17). Mark Maloney is 10 points behind Myers, with Kristian Boodoosingh (Trinidad & Tobago) and Sean Maloney also within 35 points of the leader, so the title fight is wide open with a maximum score of 75 points possible across the last three races.

Alleyne and O’Neal add to MudDogs Championship titles

Ben Norris and Kirk Watkins claimed their second victory of the 2019 Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Chefette MudDogs Safari Championship in last Sunday’s (October 20) final round, the Nassco October Safari, handing the island’s Toyota dealer a ‘home’ victory in their Land Cruiser. They finish the season second in the Driver and Navigator standings, just two points adrift of multiple Champions Leslie Alleyne and Chris O’Neal, who were the route-setters last weekend.

The Champion Driver, 4wd and 2wd titles are yet to be resolved, while just a handful of points separate the front-runners in SuperModified 2, Modified 3 and M2, so a day of hard-fought competition is on the cards.

Crews contesting the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 2019 Chefette MudDogs Safari Championship face their final points-scoring challenge of the season on Sunday (October 20), the Nassco October Safari, sponsored by the island’s Toyota dealer for the 12th consecutive year. With a route passing through six parishes and three Driver Challenges along the way, one through a St Philip swamp, it promises to be a fitting end to the campaign.

Plaudits flood in for British F4 Champion Zane Maloney

Describing Zane Maloney’s British F4 Championship win as “right up there with the very best” of his team’s triumphs, Trevor Carlin was one of many in the motor sport world on both sides of the Atlantic lauding the Bajan teenager after last weekend’s thrilling finale on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit. Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF) President Andrew Mallalieu said: “The entire motorsport community joins together under the BMF to congratulate Zane on his significant achievement.”
