‘MUD-NIFICENT SEVEN’ BREAKS NEW RECORD

Victory for Leslie Alleyne in last weekend’s Sol Go Further June Safari (June 27/28) has inscribed his name in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) record books yet again. His seventh victory not only moved him one ahead of fellow ‘June’ veteran Wayne Clarke, but also carried him back 25 years, to his first appearance on the BRC’s longest-running event.

ALLEYNE AND CLARK CHASE RECORD SEVENTH

Navigational rally veterans Leslie Alleyne and Wayne Clarke will go head-to-head in next weekend’s Sol Go Further June Safari (June 27/28), each hoping to extend his record-breaking run of wins in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) longest-running event. With victory last year, Alleyne joined Clarke on six wins, two more than anyone else on the 69-strong list of previous winners.

CHAMPION WATSON LEADS RALLY CLUB TITLE CHASE

Reigning Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Champion Driver Rhett Watson maintained his point-perfect score over the two weekends of LIME King of the Hill and Sol Rally Barbados 2015 last month, to maintain his lead in this year’s title chase. Jamaican Jeff Panton’s victory on Sol RB15, his second in the island’s premier event, has moved him into the lead of both WRC-1 and the 4wd Championship.
