CHAMPIONSHIP DECIDER ON SUNDAY

Following last weekend’s final round of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Rallysport Championship, this weekend it is the turn of the off-roaders. Sunday’s (November 9) Nassco November Safari is the last chance for crews contesting the 2008 BRC Mud Dogs Safari Championship to score points, and all the leading contenders are on the entry list published today.

SKEETE WINS VIRGIN ATLANTIC RALLYSPORT TITLE

The Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Virgin Atlantic RallySport Championship finished in dramatic style at the weekend, as competitors grasped their last chance to score points. With three Group titles and the overall Championship still up for grabs, contenders drove the BRC Winter Rally in committed fashion, spectators enjoying some heart-stopping high-speed action on the loose.

‘LAST CHANCE SALOON’ FOR RALLY CLUB COMPETITORS

Twenty-eight crews drive into the ‘last chance saloon’ this weekend (November 1 & 2) as the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Virgin Atlantic RallySport Championship reaches its conclusion with an event new to the Club’s calendar, the BRC Winter Rally; this gravel event comprises 12 stages split into three routes, one on Saturday evening and two on Sunday.

JUDGEMENT DAY FOR MUD DOGS

With 60 points on offer for victory, and a spread of 30 covering the leading four combinations, anything could happen when the Nassco November Safari brings the curtain down on the Barbados Rally Club’s 2008 Mud Dogs Safari Championship on Sunday, November 9.

ALL TO PLAY FOR AT BRC WINTER RALLY

The pressure is on this weekend (November 1/2) as the 2008 Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Virgin Atlantic RallySport Championship reaches its climax at the BRC Winter Rally; this new event on the Club’s calendar is a gravel rally, featuring a total of 12 stages, split into three routes, one on Saturday evening and two on Sunday.

BOURNE MAKES IT FOUR OUT OF FIVE

Having slipped to fourth place mid-morning, reigning Champions Paul Bourne and Stuart Maloney fought back for a fourth win in this year’s Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Rally Championship on Sunday (October 19) in the Banks/Texaco/B-Mobile/Pirelli/New-Tech Subaru Impreza WRC S9.

RALLY STARS LET LOOSE ON SUNDAY

The running order published today lists 25 crews ready to be ‘let loose’ on Sunday (October 19) as the 2008 Barbados Rally Club switches back from tarmac to gravel for the Club’s penultimate rally of its 51st competition season; the final round will run over the November 1/2 weekend.

BOURNE LOOKING TO MAINTAIN POINTS LEAD

Three victories in the first four rounds of the 2008 Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Rally Championship have given reigning Champion Paul Bourne a seven-point advantage, as competitors prepare for the season's penultimate event, Sunday's (October 19) BRC Gravel Rally.
Slated to start at 8.30am from the Searles Factory Yard in Christ Church, the event promises eight loose-surface stages, with four run in each direction, before the entire field heads for the grounds of the Sir Garfield Sobers Gymnasium, where the 2008 Barbados Motor Show will have reached its final day.

FAMILY FORTUNES PREVAIL IN CLOSE-FOUGHT ACTION

Husband and wife crew Leslie and Anna-Lee Alleyne added another navigational victory to their already impressive cv on Sunday (September 21) when they won the Regional Fire & Security September Safari, round three of the 2008 Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Mud Dogs Safari Championship.
Merely 105 penalties covered the top three crews after a hard-fought contest, where consistency was all-important and in which the weather did not play as great a part as expected - despite the heavy rainfall of Thursday and Friday, the tracks were significantly drier than many had predicted.

WEATHER PROMISES TOUGH SAFARI

Nearly 30 crews are listed on the final entry for this Sunday’s (September 21) Regional Fire & Security September Safari, round three of the 2008 Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Mud Dogs Safari Championship.
With all the front-running championship contenders entered, headed by joint leaders Anna-Lee and Leslie Alleyne and Neil Barnard and Barry Gale, and the current weather conditions guaranteed to create some difficult terrain, it promises to be a tough and hard-fought event.
