Roger Skeete, the most successful driver in the history of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) premier event, is switching roles with son Dane for Sol Rally Barbados 2019, the event’s 30th running. With 13 victories under his belt, ‘The Sheriff’ is stepping down to facilitate “an all-Barbadian crew capable of taking the attack to them all”, swapping his Subaru Impreza WRC S12B, which has won the event three times in his hands, with the Peugeot 306 Maxi in which Dane finished eighth overall last year.

Seeded at number one for Saturday’s (November 24) Tivoli Winter Rally, Jamaica’s Jeffrey Panton and Michael Fennell Jnr (Ford Focus WRC06) head a list of 10 overseas crews on the 40-car entry for the final round of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 2018 Driver’s and Class Championships. Ten special stages, five each in daylight then after dark, promise some tight action to end the season, with the Champion Driver title chase and all but two of the 12 class battles still unresolved.

The opening round of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Driver’s and Class Championships, the 10-stage, 37-kilometre event was the final test before Flow King of the Hill and Sol Rally Barbados, and close competition throughout the field augurs well for a repeat.
