MUDDOGS SEASON SETTLED AT NASSCO SAFARI

Tie-break titles for Driver Alleyne & Navigator Croney

Leslie Alleyne has won a record sixth consecutive Drivers crown in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Chefette MudDogs Safari Championship, which was settled at the Nassco November Safari last Sunday (November 11). Andrew Croney is the Champion Navigator for the second time, having won the title as a Novice in 2006, while the Club’s tie-break rules were needed to resolve both titles after a hotly-contested season in which established driver-navigator partnerships were broken up on more than one occasion.

MUDDOGS ACES ALLEYNE AND CLARKE PAIR UP

Nassco November Safari brings the season to a close

The Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) most accomplished navigational rallying experts will team up for the first time as Driver and Navigator when the Club’s 2018 Chefette MudDogs Safari Championship reaches its climax on Sunday (November 11). Leslie Alleyne and Wayne Clarke, who share nine Championship titles and 15 victories in the iconic June Rally between them, are entered for the Nassco November Safari in the former’s regular Simpson Motors/Shell Spirax/Shell Rimula/Maxxis Isuzu D-Max.

ARMSTRONG AND CLARKE BACK IN WINNERS’ ROW

Former Champions win Country View Bar & Grill Safari

Former Champions Chris Armstrong and Wayne Clarke returned to winners’ row for the first time in nearly four years last Sunday (September 16) when they won the Country View Bar & Grill September Safari, the fourth of five rounds in the 2018 Chefette MudDogs Safari Championship last Sunday. The 2012 MudDogs Champions incurred a total of 3202 penalties in their Toyota Hilux to emerge victorious from a tight three-way battle for supremacy, despite some mechanical issues early in the day.

ALLEYNE AND O’NEAL EXTEND RECORD-BREAKING RUN

Johnson and Lynch win Class B in Sol June Safari

Following their victory in the weekend’s (June 23/24) Sol June Safari, Leslie Alleyne and Chris O’Neal will need the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) to re-write its record books one more time. Despite a nerve-wracking last few hours before the Saturday morning start – O’Neal’s return flight from Canada was delayed – the experienced pair prevailed in an event which Alleyne described as a “well thought-out rally, which tested all aspects of the competitors”.
