FINAL CHANCE TO SCORE POINTS

Competition is expected to be intense in the fourth and final round of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Ruf 'n' Tuf Navigational Championship, sponsored by Barbados Industries Ltd, which is slated for next Sunday (November 7).
Kenney Croney leads the Navigators’ championship by 12 points from Anna-Lee Alleyne, while Derek Gill heads the Drivers’ points table with 45 points, chased by Croney’s driver Philip McConney, who has 36 points.
The route for Sunday’s final round has been set by two experienced BRC competitors, Geoffrey Goddard, who regularly co-drives for Harold Morley in his Subaru Impreza WRC, and Doug Armstrong, whose son Neil is following in his father’s wheel-tracks in his Toyota Starlet.
Using entirely Tulip navigation it will start at Kendall Sporting St. Philip at 8.00 am; the first route is roughly 40 kilometres and travels through the parishes of St Philip, St George and St John to finish at Colleton Plantation yard at around 12.00 pm for a one-hour lunch stop.
The second route is approximately 50 kilometres, restarting from Colleton at 1.00 pm; competitors will journey back through St John, St George and St Philip, finishing at Kendall Sporting around 5pm, where provisional results will be announced. The prize-giving is scheduled for 7.00pm on Tuesday, November 9, at the same venue.
Entries will open at the briefing meeting to be held at Kendall Sporting on Wednesday (November 3) at 7:30 pm, and will close at the meeting’s end. BRC navigational committee member Linsday Farmer said: “Unlike our earlier events, there is no provision for late entries for this final round. Both competitors from each crew are encouraged to attend this meeting.”
The entry fee is $30 per vehicle (limit of two persons per vehicle), with an additional temporary membership fee of $35 required from each non-BRC member.
For competitors who may be unfamiliar with all forms of navigation, there is some useful information available on Farmer's web site, www.rallynut.com.
