WATSON WINS SECOND TITLE AFTER MORNING SCARE

Rhett Watson yesterday (Sunday) became the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Champion Driver title for the second year in a row, with two final class wins in the double-header Winter Sprint in St Lucy. The first driver to win back-to-back titles for more than 20 years - Derek Roach was the last, in 1991-‘92 - he maintained his perfect record of class wins, but he had started the day very much on the back foot.

All change for BPMSI Floodlit Finale at Bushy Park Barbados

Following Tuesday’s announcement that Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc’s (BPMSI) 2015 Championship will climax in a Floodlit Finale at Bushy Park Barbados next Saturday (October 17), an even more comprehensive shake-up of the traditional race meet format has now been confirmed, offering fans 10 hours of almost non-stop action.

RALLY CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TO BE SETTLED SUNDAY

Seven months after it started, the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 2015 Championship will be settled on Sunday (October 11) at the double-header Winter Sprint at Lamberts to Josey Hill - and back - in St Lucy. Twenty-five drivers are confirmed in the running order published today (Friday), including all the leading contenders in the chase for the sought-after Champion Driver title.

BPMSI to stage floodlit finale at Bushy Park Barbados

Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc (BPMSI) will stage a floodlit finale to its first Championship season at the St Philip facility on Saturday, October 17. In addition to the last of four points-scoring rounds for the BPMSI Championship classes on both two and four wheels, the inaugural Summer Season of the Suzuki Challenge Series will reach its climax with a demanding six-race double-header.

RALLY CLUB TITLE CONTENDERS PREPARE FOR

Competition is tight in the hunt for the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) sought-after Champion Driver title, as the contenders make ready for the 2015 finale, the double-header Winter Sprint at Lamberts to Josey Hill in St Lucy on Sunday, October 11. After a perfect record of class wins by each driver in the previous six events, a spread of just five points covers Reigning Champion Rhett Watson, Wayne Archer and Jeremy Croney.

Barbados winner Speed confident for Red Bull GRC return

Former Toro Rosso grand prix driver Scott Speed is heading for Bushy Park Barbados in confident mood for the penultimate rounds of the Red Bull Global Rallycross season this weekend (October 3/4). Winner of the inaugural Red Bull GRC event in the Caribbean last May, he has since become the first driver in series history to win both rounds of a double-header, in Los Angeles last month.

Longest track in series history for Red Bull GRC Barbados

Red Bull Global Rallycross returns to Bushy Park Barbados next week (October 3/4) with a brand new course layout, the longest and fastest in series history. At 1.1208 miles long, it is the first track to run for more than a mile; with the addition of two new passing zones via track design and a ‘camelback’ jump - cars will fly over two jumps in succession - the new course should only serve to improve upon a venue that produced some of the best racing in last year’s Red Bull GRC season.

ALLEYNE AND O’NEAL WIN MUDDOGS SEPTEMBER SAFARI

Leslie Alleyne and Chris O'Neal won Sunday’s (September 20) MudDogs September Safari in the Simpson Motors/Shell Spirax/Shell Rimula/Maxxis Isuzu D-Max, easing ahead in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Chefette MudDogs Safari Championship. While recent weather patterns had created a good degree of mud, Sunday’s heavy rains fell mostly on the west of the island, while the MudDogs were on the east coast, so had little further effect.

McRAE CROWNED 2015 CARNIVAL KING

Five-time British Rally Champion Jimmy McRae beat all class contenders to the top prize in Barbados historic rallying - King of the Carnival.

Driving a Tuthill Porsche Post-Historic 911 with trusty long-time co-driver Ian Grindrod by his side, the Scottish ace blitzed all in Category 2 - for cars built between 1968 and 1974 - in the International Rallysprint and the Barbados Historic Rally, to bring home the Andrew Phillips Memorial trophy.
