Team Barbados duo Dane Skeete and Rhett Watson, fresh from their defeat of Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago in last weekend’s (December 13/14) inaugural ROC Caribbean at the annual Race Of Champions, have confirmed their entries for next year’s 25th Anniversary running of Sol Rally Barbados.

Four rounds confirmed for Seaboard Marine CMRC 2015

The Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC) will be fought out over four rounds for the first time in 2015. Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago will each host a round of the premier regional championship, with Seaboard Marine confirmed as title sponsor for the sixth year.

Team Barbados wins inaugural ROC Caribbean

On a landmark weekend for regional motor sport, in which some of the Caribbean’s best drivers are enjoying a chance to mix with champions from around the world, the home team of Rhett Watson and Dane Skeete won the inaugural ROC Caribbean at Bushy Park Barbados today (Saturday), just hours after fighting their way to a place in the semi-finals of the ROC Nations Cup.

Barbados is swarming with legends of motor sport who have arrived on the island ahead of this weekend’s Race Of Champions

Champions and greats from series including F1, Le Mans, IndyCar, NASCAR, WTCC, Touring Cars, World Rallycross and MotoGP put in their first practice laps at Bushy Park Barbados

As they got out of their cars FIA World Rallycross Champion Petter Solberg neatly summed it up: “These guys are all as crazy as I am…”

The spectacular Volkswagen Polo RX will be among the cars in action at this weekend’s Race Of Champions in Barbados

Mercedes Formula 1 car to appear at ROC Barbados

Formula 1 world champions Mercedes will show off their 2012 car – with its screaming V8 engine – at this weekend’s Race Of Champions in Barbados

The car will be taken on a demo run by official Mercedes F1 reserve driver Pascal Wehrlein, the youngest ever winner in Germany’s DTM series

Formula 1, Le Mans and Indianapolis 500 winners are among the line-up for the racing action itself, to take place on ROC’s unique parallel track

Bushy Park, ROC and Terry Grant go back to school
