Josh Read wins Rally2 final and 2024 Championship

Josh Read has won the 2024 Barbados Rally2 Championship sponsored by CIBC Caribbean and Ace H & B Hardware, following his victory in Sunday’s (December 1) final round, the Motorsport Island Stages. Jamaica’s Kyle Gregg finished second in the single-venue rally at the Vaucluse Raceway in St Thomas, 16.7 seconds down, and in the championship standings, one place higher than last year.

Final showdown for Rally2’s four 2024 winners

All four drivers who have won rounds of the 2024 Barbados Rally2 Championship sponsored by CIBC Caribbean and Ace H & B Hardware will go head-to-head one more time this weekend. They are entered for Sunday’s (December 1) Motorsport Island Stages at the Vaucluse Raceway in St Thomas in the eighth and final round of the national championship administered by the Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF).

Former Caribbean Junior Karting Champion Adam Mallalieu claimed his second win in the Barbados Rally2 Championship sponsored by CIBC Caribbean and Ace H & B Hardware on Sunday (November 17). With experienced British co-driver Steve McNulty, he finished second in the FIA class in the BRC Winter Rally to Stuart Maloney, who is not registered for points, on a day of challenging weather and tricky road conditions in St John.

Stuart Maloney is the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Champion Driver elect, after winning Sunday’s (November 17) BRC Winter Rally at the wheel of his Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 with co-driver Kristian Yearwood. Fought out on a day of challenging weather and tricky road conditions in St John, the eighth and final round of the 2024 BRC Driver’s and Class Championships provided an action-packed climax to the season.

Rally Club Championship to be settled on Sunday

Stuart Maloney and Kristian Yearwood lead the field of 43 cars entered for the final round of the 2024 Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Driver’s and Class Championships in the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 in which they won BCIC Rally Barbados. With the now-customary enhanced points structure in place for Sunday’s (November 17) BRC Winter Rally and overall and class champions yet to be crowned, a hot day of competition is anticipated.

Overseas Rally2 crews head in for BRC Winter Rally

Six drivers and co-drivers from around the region, Britain and the United States are heading to the island for this weekend’s seventh round of the 2024 Barbados Rally2 Championship sponsored by CIBC Caribbean and Ace H & B Hardware and administered by the Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF). The talent-studded FIA R5 class in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Winter Rally on Sunday (November 17) will include all but one of the championship’s points-scorers.

BMF applauds Hinkson after FIA Esports Games

The Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF) has saluted ‘Iron Man’ Mark-Anthony Hinkson for his performance last weekend (October 24-27) at the FIA Motorsport Games in Spain. In partnership with Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc (BTMI) and supported by the Barbados Olympic Association (BOA), the island was one of 82 countries affiliated to the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) which fielded 646 competitors in the third edition of the Games.
