Zane Maloney’s local car race debut at Williams International

Former Barbados Karting Association (BKA) Champion Zane Maloney, who currently leads the high-profile single-seater F4 British Championship, will make his home circuit car racing debut at this weekend’s (August 31/September 1) Williams Industries International Race Meet. With preparations under way in workshops across the island, and entries on the 17-race programme approaching a total of 80, testing was in full swing at Bushy Park Barbados today (Friday), with Zane getting valuable seat time in father Sean’s Radical SR3 RS and uncle Stuart’s Citroen C2.

Jeffrey returns to the Radical Caribbean SR3 Cup at Bushy Park

The established front-runners in the Radical Caribbean SR3 Cup will face a familiar challenge this weekend (August 31/September 1), when former Winter Cup Champion, Guyana’s Kristian Jeffrey, returns to Bushy Park Barbados for the first time in two years. Round three of the 2019 series, on track during the Williams Industries International Race Meet, will also see the SR3 Cup debut of double Trinidad & Tobago Rally Champion Stuart Johnson, returning to circuit racing after a long absence.

Something for all the family at Williams International

The Williams Industries International Race Meet at Bushy Park Barbados (August 31/September 1) promises patrons a weekend to remember, with something for all the family. In addition to an action-packed 19-race programme organised by Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc (BPMSI), the grounds of the St Philip facility will be alive with other attractions including a Kidz Zone, the Cultural Village and a lunchtime drifting demonstration.

SOL RALLY BARBADOS 2020 DATES ANNOUNCED

Marshal exchange scheme agreed with ground-breaking Welsh event

Following this year’s successful 30th running of its premier event, which attracted more than 40 overseas entries for the fifth year in a row, the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) has announced the provisional dates for Sol Rally Barbados 2020. Subject to final ratification by the Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF), Sol RB20 will run from Friday to Sunday, May 29 to 31, with The Rally Show (May 23) and Flow King of the Hill (May 24) the previous weekend.

Gregg and Radical RXC confirmed for Williams International

Jamaica’s Thundersport 2 Champion for the past two years, Kyle Gregg, is today (Tuesday) confirmed for the Williams Industries International Race Meet at Bushy Park Barbados, where he will share a grid with both Kristian Jeffrey and Andrew King of Guyana for the first time. The highlight of the facility’s 2019 circuit racing season, the August 31/September 1 meet is organised by Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc (BPMSI) and staged with additional backing from Digicel Barbados and the Tourism Development Corporation (TDC).

RALLY CLUB RULE CHANGE ALLOWS 2016 WORLD CARS

Decision welcomed by overseas competitors

World Rally Cars built before the end of 2016 will now be eligible for Barbados Rally Club (BRC) events, following an overwhelming vote by the membership in favour of an amendment to the Club’s 2019 to 2021 Vehicle Regulations. Last evening’s (Tuesday) well-attended EGM at the Barbados Clay Target Shooting Association (BCTSA) Clubhouse at Searles, Christ Church, also approved changes to the rules for Modified 4, minimum weights across all classes and some rim widths.

NORRIS, WATKINS JOIN ‘THE JUNE’ ROLL OF HONOUR

Patels win Class B in Shelbury Construction June Safari

Two new names were added to the Roll of Honour of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) longest-running event at the weekend (June 29/30) when Ben Norris and Kirk Watkins won the Shelbury Construction June Safari. After a close overnight contest through all but one of the island’s parishes, Norris and Watkins (Toyota Land Cruiser) prevailed by 100 penalty points, bringing the number of winners to 73 since the event was first run in June 1957.
