Well over one hundred classic rally cars set off in the early morning mist to tackle the famous and demanding special stages within the Ring of Kerry on the Rentokil Initial Killarney Historic Stages rally.
Team Barbados duo Dane Skeete and Rhett Watson, fresh from their defeat of Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago in last weekend’s (December 13/14) inaugural ROC Caribbean at the annual Race Of Champions, have confirmed their entries for next year’s 25th Anniversary running of Sol Rally Barbados.
The Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC) will be fought out over four rounds for the first time in 2015. Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago will each host a round of the premier regional championship, with Seaboard Marine confirmed as title sponsor for the sixth year.
On a landmark weekend for regional motor sport, in which some of the Caribbean’s best drivers are enjoying a chance to mix with champions from around the world, the home team of Rhett Watson and Dane Skeete won the inaugural ROC Caribbean at Bushy Park Barbados today (Saturday), just hours after fighting their way to a place in the semi-finals of the ROC Nations Cup.

Bushy Park Barbados and the organisers of next weekend’s annual Race Of Champions (December 13/14) have joined forces with world record stunt driver, England’s Terry Grant, who arrived in the island on Tuesday, to reach out to a new generation of motor sport fans . . . and to give something back to the community in the process.
