SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE AT THE RALLY SHOW

Showcase for Sol Rally Barbados competitors and sponsors

There will be something for everyone at The Rally Show, when it returns to the Banks Playing Field at Wildey for the second year next Saturday (May 25); once again, the Show will run from 1.00pm to 6.00pm. Building on the success of last year’s switch of venue, the organisers have attracted a wide range of exhibitors, large and small, to keep the whole family engaged, while the ‘petrol-heads’ enjoy unrivalled access to approaching 100 local, regional and international cars and their crews.

LOCALS CHASE POINTS AT SOL RB19 AND FLOW KotH

Encouraging upturn in island competitor numbers

Local drivers chasing points in the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) 2019 Driver’s and Class Championships are heading in to the most important two weekends of the year. As Flow King of the Hill (May 26) and Sol Rally Barbados (May 31 - June 2) draw ever nearer, on-line ‘countdowns’ are fraying the nerves of mechanics across the island, while drivers are gearing themselves up to face with the largest local entry in recent years.

WOMEN IN MOTOR SPORT IN SOL RALLY BARBADOS

Record-equalling 22 female participants from seven countries

Four newcomers to rallying in the Caribbean are among the record-equalling 22 female participants in Sol Rally Barbados 2019, the 30th running of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) premier event. While England’s Cheryl Spencer is this year’s only driver, the list of co-drivers includes first-time visitors Jane Nicol and Nikki Addison, who both won titles in last year’s 50th Anniversary Scottish Rally Championship (SRC).

SOL RALLY BARBADOS 2019 – “ONE FOR THE FANS”

Panton heads near-record 100-strong entry

The Barbados Rally Club (BRC) is targetting the 30th running of its premier event very firmly at the island’s huge spectator base, a key component in the sport’s growth in recent years. As the provisional entry list of 100 crews – the most since Sol RB12 – was confirmed at today’s (Wednesday) Media Briefing at Mahogany Ridge, St James, the organising team made clear that this year’s event is “one for the fans”.
