Earlier date for Barbados Festival of Speed 2017

Following the success of the inaugural Barbados Festival of Speed in May 2016, Bushy Park Circuit Inc (BPCI) has confirmed Saturday, February 4, as the date for BFoS 2017. While no details of the planned content have yet been revealed, the one-day event will next year run from day into night, promising a whole new experience for spectators.

ALLEYNE, O’NEAL WIN CHEFETTE SEPTEMBER SAFARI

Leslie Alleyne and Chris O’Neal won Sunday’s (September 18) Chefette September Safari to claim their second win in the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) 2016 Chefette MudDogs Safari & Safari Novice Championships, having already won the March Safari. In the Simpson Motors/Shell Spirax/Shell Rimula/Maxxis Isuzu D-Max, the multiple champions won by a margin of just 19 penalty points.

MUDDOGS BACK IN ACTION THIS WEEKEND

After a three-month summer break, competitors will be ready for action when the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Chefette MudDogs Safari & Safari Novice Championships continue on Sunday (September 18) with the third of four rounds in the 2016 calendar, the Chefette September Safari.

WARD, EASTMOND JOIN ‘THE JUNE’ ROLL OF HONOUR

Two new names were added to the Roll of Honour of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) longest-running event at the weekend (June 25/26) when Michael Ward and Warrick Eastmond won the Sol June Safari. After a hard-fought overnight contest through all 11 of the island’s parishes, Ward and Eastmond (Regional Fire and Security Suzuki Jimny) prevailed by just 82 penalty points, the lowest margin of victory since 2011.

EIGHT FORMER WINNERS FOR SOL JUNE SAFARI

Eight former winners of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) longest-running event will face a tough test in this weekend’s Sol June Safari (June 25/26), as they tackle a 17-hour course leading them through all 11 of the island’s parishes. Recent rains, bringing the island drought to an end, will add more spice to what promises to be an exciting contest.

ALLEYNE AND O’NEAL WIN MARCH SAFARI

Leslie Alleyne and Chris O’Neal made an excellent start to their title defence when the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Chefette MudDogs Safari & Safari Novice Championships got under way with the March Safari last Sunday (March 6). They won both routes in the south-east corner of the island in the Simpson Motors/Shell Spirax/Shell Rimula/Maxxis Isuzu D-Max to end the day 282 penalties to the good.

CHEFETTE TO SPONSOR MUDDOGS FOR FOURTH YEAR

Chefette Restaurants has been confirmed as title sponsor of the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) MudDogs Safari & Safari Novice Championships for the fourth year, continuing its enthusiastic backing for the series, which began with the awarding of Novice trophies in 2010. Competitors are now making preparations for the new season, which kicks off with Sunday’s (March 6) March Safari.
