BMF hails Kyffin Simpson for FRA Championship win

The Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF) has hailed 17-year-old Barbadian driver Kyffin Simpson’s success in winning the 2021 Formula Regional Americas Championship powered by Honda, as “beyond our expectations”. In a dominant campaign which concluded on Saturday (November 6) at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, home of the United States Grand Prix, Simpson won seven of the 18 races and finished on the podium in a further six, helping renowned IndyCar engineer Tim Neff’s new TJ Speed Motorsports outfit to victory in the Teams’ Championship in its first season.

Bushy Park congratulates racer Zane Maloney

Bushy Park has sent congratulations to Zane Maloney, who finished fourth in the inaugural Formula Regional European Championship (FREC) by Alpine – certified by the FIA. During a campaign of 20 races at 10 circuits across Europe, which ended at Monza in Italy on Sunday (October 31), 18-year-old Zane claimed a famous victory at the Monaco Grand Prix circuit in May and stood on the podium a further seven times. Fresh from that success, Zane travelled directly to Valencia in Spain where he has been among the front-runners in this week's official FIA Formula 3 test.

The future is bright for the Barbados Motoring Federation

The Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF) is in a solid financial position, despite the challenges of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and is pressing ahead with several initiatives aimed at offering improved services to its Member Clubs. BMF President Andrew Mallalieu revealed this and other positive developments to this month’s virtual Annual General Meeting (July 1), at which he was re-elected President until 2024.

The Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF) has today (June 29) announced the appointment of Natya Soodeen as Chairperson of Women in Motorsport Barbados. A former show-jumper, who has represented Barbados in regional and international events, Natya has turned her passion for competition from one horsepower to another and is now an active member of the island’s motor sport scene.
